Mitä tarkoittaa

Kymmenys on perinteinen käytäntö, jossa henkilö tai yhteisö antaa osan tuloistaan, yleensä kymmenesosan, uskonnolliselle yhteisölle tai kirkolle. Tämä käytäntö juontaa juurensa useisiin eri kulttuureihin ja uskontoon, ja se on ollut keskeinen osa monien uskovien taloudellista elämää. Kymmenyksen maksaminen voi nähdä myös velvollisuutena ja epäitsekkäänä tukena yhteisölle, ja se voi sisältää rahan lisäksi myös muita resursseja, kuten aikaa tai lahjoituksia. Kymmenystä on käytetty myös varainhankintana kirkkojen ja uskonnollisten organisaatioiden toiminnan tukemiseksi.
