Mitä tarkoittaa

Lyijy (kemiallinen merkki Pb) on alkuaine, joka kuuluu metallien ryhmään. Se on pehmeä, taipuisa ja helposti muokattava metalli, jolla on korkea tiheys. Lyijyä on käytetty vuosisatojen ajan monissa sovelluksissa, kuten putkistoissa, akkujen valmistuksessa, ammuksissa ja maaleissa. Kuitenkin lyijyn myrkyllisyys on aiheuttanut huomattavaa huolta, erityisesti sen vaikutuksista terveyteen ja ympäristöön. Nykyisin lyijyn käyttöä on rajoitettu monissa maissa turvallisuussyistä.
