Mitä tarkoittaa

Epistemologia on filosofian haara, joka tutkii tiedon luonteen, alkuperän ja rajoja. Se käsittää kysymyksiä siitä, mitä tieto on, miten se saadaan ja mikä tekee uskomuksesta oikeutettua. Epistemologian keskeisiä käsitteitä ovat uskomus, totuus, oikeutus ja tieto. Tietoteorian peruskysymyksiä ovat esimerkiksi: Mitä tarkoittaa tietää jotain? Miten voimme olla varmoja siitä, että tietomme on totta? Epistemologia on tärkeä osa filosofiaa, koska se vaikuttaa moniin muihin filosofian aloihin, kuten etiikkaan, tieteenfilosofiaan ja metafysiikkaan.
