Mitä tarkoittaa

Chorion on yksi sikiön kalvoista, joka kehittyy alkion ympärille varhaisessa raskauden vaiheessa. Se on tärkeä osa istukkaa ja osallistuu ravinteiden ja hapen siirtoon äidin verestä sikiöön. Chorion koostuu kahdesta solukerroksesta ja se on vastuussa myös hormonituotannosta, joka ylläpitää raskautta. Chorionin ja äidin kudosten välinen vuorovaikutus on keskeinen tekijä sikiön kehityksessä ja terveydessä.
