Mitä tarkoittaa

Across on englanninkielinen adverbi, joka tarkoittaa kulkemista tai siirtymistä jonkin kohteen, kuten kadun, sillan tai kentän, poikki. Se voi myös viitata sijaintiin, joka on jonkin asian toisella puolella. Sanalla on monia käyttöyhteyksiä, ja se voi esiintyä sekä kirjaimellisissa että kuvaannollisissa merkityksissä. Esimerkiksi 'He asuvat talon toisella puolella' tarkoittaa, että he asuvat talon lähellä, mutta ei sen sisällä.
