Tuoreus tarkoittaa sitä, että jokin on äskettäin hankittu tai valmistettu, eikä se ole vanhentunut tai pilaantunut. Tuoreita elintarvikkeita pidetään yleensä maukkaampina ja ravinteikkaampina verrattuna vanhempiin tai käsiteltyihin vaihtoehtoihin. Tuoreus voi myös liittyä muihin aisteihin, kuten tuoksuun tai ulkonäköön, ja se voi viitata esimerkiksi raikkaaseen ilmaan tai tuoreeseen veteen. Tuoreus on tärkeä käsite monilla aloilla, kuten ruoantuotannossa, ravitsemuksessa ja jopa muoti- ja kauneusaloilla.
